Atzaru looked back at the diamond dragon slayer as she had her wound treated and shrugged.
"Maybe i am, things are just not the way they used to be," he muttered and was then briefly distracted by Ace as he wailed out in the garden, "but at least you're all alive."
She did have a point, there was already a split in the guild because of his insistence to find the replacement for the master. If that was allowed to grow... the results could be disastrous. That and the large back of jewel dropped on the table eased his mind.
"Well, with that donation and the income provided by Zahara's recent success," he trailed and briefly went back to his accountant's book to do some math, "...then we should be able to keep going for a while. In that case you have plenty of time to mourn her."
He walked back down and picked up the sack and went back to place it by the book. Then he ran back to the new arrival. Hopefully he hadn't given off the wrong impression.

Once the group returned to the guild hall Atzaru was still sitting at the bar with his accountant's book and seemingly a very displeased expression once he saw who had returned, even if there still was a hint of relief based on the sigh he let out.
"Ah, there you are, how nice of you to drop by," he started while closing his book and coming over to meet them, "now, would you kindly do me a favor and explain what the hell you were thinking pulling a stunt like that?! Leaving without as much as a note, are you out of your mind? One missing dragon slayer was bad enough and then all of them goes missing not soon after, one could be let to believe you had it planned. Thankfully you weren't gone for long... otherwise i foresee this would be one hell of a nightmare to pull through."
With that out of his system he finally seemed to settle down a bit. Though he still seemed to be tunnel-visioning and ignoring new arrivals.
"Just... just tell me the reason so i can note it down," he sighed in resignation once he took note of the state they were in before pulling out a notepad, "and remember that bloody note next time so i don't have to guess what you're doing. Then we can focus on the important things."
He didn't say anymore, but he hoped that it at least had been worth all they had been through based on what he could see.

"...this can't be good," Atzaru sighed as he managed to recognize the symbols. He couldn't understand them, but he had seen some of them when Ava started classifying the late mistress' books following her demise, "why would she be writing in this language? Surely she would want other to understand it." His mutterings was partly to himself and part directed to the Grimoire as it started to flip pages on its own. As it glanced over to it again he read what he had written to him, it didn't exactly make him feel better.
"I understand, i will make sure to check it out when i get the chance. That and i will make sure to approach Ana with caution," he assured the book, only to realize that Lucas had asked what was going on and understood how weird this all must have seemed to the Rock Slayer.
"Well yes i did. This is Grimoire, a priced possession of the guild's librarian Ava Rosenberg," he explained and turned to face Lucas, "she is a bit of a special case, she is blind and sees the world through magic. It's also known that she has visions from time to time, but i haven't seen her react like this in a long time. She is also known to be cold around other so don't worry if she is like that when interacting with you, she is cold towards everybody in the guild."
He held a small break to give Lucas a chance to digest everything he had just told him before continuing, "That's what i know about her. Apart from that, i've been told that she arrived her with the Grimoire and that it is sentient. At first i was highly skeptical, but i have since learned the truth. It might not look like much, bit this book is very clever which is why it worries me that she just left it here."

Once again Atzaru found himself smiling as Lucas went ballistic with excitement. It was nice to see him acting like he did and the arrival of Felix had also helped him think of something else. Eventually the Rock Slayer came to a decision and he prepared the stamp.
"Very well," he said and placed it against his forearm before giving it a good press down. When he removed it the guild mark was there, signaling which guild he belonged to, "welcome to Knightfall, Lucas Vestel."

His answer left Atzaru at a loss for words, maybe the vampire was onto something when he said the guild had some sort of power to attract powerful mages sometime in the past.
"I see, a Rock Dragon Slayer," he eventually answered and quickly added it to a page he had titled 'Lukas Vestel', "then i'm pleased to inform you that you'll feel right at home here. Our guild has attracted quite a few of your kind, though no one knows why. Last time i checked the roster i think we had four with the distinction. With that out of the way i have another question, do you have any previous experiences and, if so, what were they?"

Atzaru couldn't help but smile as the newcomer sat down as well.
"A pleasure to meet you Lucas, i am Atzaru, guild accountant and janitor," he said and offered to shake his hand, "now, before you join i got a few questions for you. The first of which would be what kind of magic you wield."

As soon as Atzaru had dived into his work it had taken all his attention and he hadn't even noticed that Felix had left the table or that the door was opened. He did hear some talk though and that momentary distraction was the reason clearly heard Felix when he said there was another visitor.
"Huh, wha- okay, sure, i will handle it, thanks," he told the mercenary as he quickly recomposed himself before getting up to meet this new arrival, "welcome to the Knightfall guild. What brings you to our humble halls?" He tried to use his most professional voice but it wasn't really convincing. But given the atmosphere in the hall it should be obvious that he wasn't the only one with low spirit.

"Yeah, you're right," Atzaru nodded, the mercenary spoke the truth. They were a guild and they had to work together. Perhaps it indeed was time for him to calm down a bit and let things run their cause while keeping the guild afloat, "i'll make sure to talk with them i get the chance."
With that done, and Felix agreeing to stay and wait, he opened his notebook and returned to his work.
